Hi all.
Well what a three weeks the Georgiou's have had.
All started back on our last night in Barcelona. Nic had his final training session at the FCBarcelona Escola Xmas Camp. Arthur and Nic were called to the side and explained there maybe an opportunity for Nic to train with the Escola Academy until the end of the season in June.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Arthur's and my head was spinning. We had our flight out to Athens the next morning and I had booked a loft in Athens for two weeks. We decided to think things through once we arrived in Athens.
In Athens we entered our very cute Studio / Loft. It was owned by an architect and was very funky. It had the beds upstairs with a huge living and kitchen area. Worked really well with the kids and they loved it because of the open plan living area and there was a movie projector screen so we had movie nights with popcorn! We told the owner we were only going to pay for one week as we had a decision to make and may return back to Barcelona.

After being in a beautiful city like Barcelona for 7 weeks returning to Athens was with mixed emotions. We LOVE greece but you can really see how bad things have become here.
We had a fantastic week with my Aunties but all the Doom and Gloom in Greece made the decision easy to come back to Barcelona for two more weeks and decide if we really want to stay on or not.
So Thursday the 12th of January we returned to Barcelona and we are staying again in the heart of the city in a beautiful apartment The very same night Nic went to his first training session with FCB Escola, they were there waiting for him and handed him his new uniform and off he went to meet his team mates. He was welcomed immediately and a few kids spoke English as well. His team is called 'FABREGAS' each Escola team is named after a 1st team player. He also trained Friday and on Saturday he played his first Game. As a welcome gesture the kids voted Nic to be captain and out he came head held high and proud . They played a very exciting match and won 5-4.
Arthur was extremely emotional and couldn't believe the set up and organization of the game. I think this is the morning that sealed the decision that we stay here, as this opportunity will never come again so why not give it a try! It will be an experience of a life time for all of us! We are not in any contract so if we need to leave at any point we can.
I ended up researching schools and we chose one called The English School. The school is very cute with 14 kids in Zoe's class and 10 in Nics class. They are also learning Spanish and the language of Barcelona which is Catalan.
So this is the latest turn of events and I am very very excited. I miss my home and family but because Skype is so amazing you don't feel as isolated and you interact as if you are in the same room.
Arthur returned back on tuesday to organise some things and then our new life for the next 5 months will begin. We have also found another great apartment in the city centre very close to the metro, markets and shops. It is a great size with lots of natural light as well.
i will Keep you all posted with more soon.
i hope you are all well
