hi all,
tonight i'm writing to you from the island of santorini. it has been interesting coming here with kids.
the romance and stunning views are constantly disturbed by the word "mum" being repeated 1000 times a minute. the beautiful little cobbled streets and views as you walk down them get tarnished by one of my children needing a piggy back ride because they cant walk any further. GET THE PICTURE SO FAR!
This is what my first day in santorini has been like. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thank god the weather and our rooms are amazing. we have a private pool and a stunning view! the beds are ultra comfy too! especially after sleeping on mattresses on the floor and hard as rock pillows for a couple of weeks. lol lol.
today i had a hilarious moment with zoe. she wanted to go up the steps with the donkeys. she was so excited until they put her on it! i ended up sitting on the donkey with her. the whole way up stunk of donkey manure. we were dry reaching every step of the way up! then one of the donkeys stopped and did his business right in front of her. lol lol. she was absolutely disgusted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that was definately a once in a life time experiences but not in a good way. lol.
tomorrow we will go to a more child friendly beach, or maybe even the water park.
we have had a great time in athens staying with arthurs Aunty Marigoula. his cousins Saki and Dimitri have been amazing ! they have been so fantastic with the kids and making sure there is always something fun for them to do when we go out. there is a massive park near them where i have had a couple of runs, and the kids playgrounds are like luna park, so it has been handy having it at walking distance from where we are staying.
the food has been amazing everywhere we go, little taverns by the beach up in sounio had delicious fresh octopus , calamari and fish of the day, kokinisto stifatho with rabbit and of course souvlakia are available every 100 meters. it is almost impossible to get a bad coffee here. the frappe is now out of fashion and everyone orders a freddo cappuccino which is 1 shot of coffee, milk and ice. yum!!!! and of course we have to have the bougatsa to go with it.
next week going to my side of the family in larissa and look forward to catching up with them.
miss you all heaps,
until next time,
take care
